Year in Review

2003 was a busy year for Elsinore. In addition to routine fixes and updates, 30 new features were added to Visual Intercept products. Visual SourceSafe Integration for Visual Intercept Web, Mass-Update capability for Visual Intercept Web, spell checking and template based cloning are a few of these enhancements. If you are not up-to-date on your VI updates, we hope that this review will encourage you to upgrade in order to take advantage of all the new Visual Intercept functionality. Updates are offered to our customers active on support and maintenance free of charge.

Tech Tip: Using Visual Intercept with MSDE

If you are just starting out with Visual Intercept or setting up a Visual Intercept database for a small team, you may not have access to or licenses for a robust database management system like Microsoft SQL Server or Oracle. In this situation, you might think an Access database would be the only alternative. However, Microsoft SQL Server Desktop Engine (MSDE) provides a superior, no-cost alternative to Access that offers all the features and performance a smaller team needs. This month’s tech tip will walk you through the process of creating a Visual Intercept database for MSDE.
