Administrator training typically requires 1-2 days, and is most advantageous when conducted prior to user training. Our experience has shown that this training is most productive when conducted as hands-on consultative work with the team members who make decisions about how the incident management tool will be used. The objective of this training is to configure Visual Intercept for production work while simultaneously teaching users to administrate the tool themselves. Once administrator training is over, the configuration created during the course can be transferred immediately to the user’s environment. During administrator training, team members will learn how to use Visual Intercept to configure document attributes, security groups, workflow rules, notification rules and project hierarchies that are intuitive to use and at the same time reflect the organization’s business rules.
User training typically consists of a 1/2 to 3/4 day course during which users become familiar with Visual Intercept and its core functionality. The objective is for users to leave the course with an understanding of how to use Visual Intercept within the context of their existing processes and tools. We recommend completing administrator training prior to user training, as this allows Elsinore’s instructor to conduct the course using a system that is configured exactly as it will be in the user’s environment. Courses are typically limited to twenty users. In larger organizations, a more in-depth, one-day course may be employed as a “train-the-trainer” session, where a subset of system users are trained so that they can explain the system to other team members.
