Research Triangle Park, NC (May 28, 2003) -- Elsinore Technologies, elsitech.com, developer of the Visual Intercept enterprise issue management platform for managing the planned tasks and unexpected events (issues) associated with work, announced today that it has released Visual Intercept 3.5. The latest version of Visual Intercept, which is the only enterprise issue management solution designed from the ground up to integrate with Microsoft ® development and productivity tools, includes significant new functionality as well as numerous user interface and navigation enhancements.
"Visual Intercept 3.5 promises to be the most powerful and user-friendly enterprise issue management tool on the market," said John Lockhart, Visual Intercept Product Manager. "In keeping with our customer-driven approach to product development, many of its new capabilities are based on the feedback of users who depend on Visual Intercept as one of their critical productivity tools."
One of the key enhancements to Visual Intercept 3.5 is its unique web-based integration to Microsoft Visual SourceSafe®. This integration allows all developers to work on source files within the context of their software development incidents. In addition to providing all essential source code control functionality over the Internet, the integration was written using the latest .NET technologies and is highly secure and efficient, providing data encryption and compression.
Other new productivity enhancements include: spell checking; automatic log-on; additional custom fields and new custom data types; new standard fields for build numbers, version dates and attached document annotation; reverse sorting on columns; precedence value for setting parameter sort orders; the ability to clone users and groups; and notification and prompt to reset session timeout before expiration. An electronic signature feature supports 21 CFR Part 11 and other regulatory compliance applications.
In addition to these new capabilities, Visual Intercept Web incorporates productivity features that are very popular among users of the Visual Intercept Enterprise client/server product. These include Visual Intercept's unique mass update capability and macro-based queries, two features that allow users to work efficiently and effectively in environments with a high volume of issues. Visual Intercept's already outstanding graphical user interface has been refined to greatly enhance the ease of use and efficiency of many standard workflows.
Visual Intercept 3.5 also incorporates new and enhanced integrations to further increase productivity by leveraging other commonly used software tools. The Visual Intercept integration to Microsoft Project® now unifies information about task start and finish dates and resource dates allocated in Visual Intercept, while the Visual Intercept Enterprise client/server product features a new native integration to Rational® ClearCase®.
