As many of you know, Elsinore recently introduced Visual Intercept Project (VIP). Based on customer feedback and our vision to become the standard corporate wide issue/incident management system, we have repriced VIP to a one-time connector fee independent of the number of users.
In order to stimulate awareness, adoption, and customer feedback of VIP, we are offering to waive the connector fee as part of an Early Adopter Program. To become members of the Early Adopter Program customers need to meet the following criteria:
- Willingness to be a reference
- Commitment to be in production by March 31, 2002

We recognize that our success moving forward is wholly dependent on your success with our products. As such, we will be establishing a product advisory group early in 2002. Elsinore Technologies wants to know the innovative ways our customers are using Visual Intercept to implement best practices, solve problems and produce better products. In the past Elsinore Technologies has distributed both product service releases and product patches in a single distribution set and made them available to all Visual Intercept customers. Beginning January 1, 2002 Visual Intercept service releases will be available only to Visual Intercept customers with active support and maintenance agreements.
To give customers a chance to review and update their support and maintenance agreement, Elsinore Technologies will make service releases available to all customers through December 31, 2001. If you have used Visual Intercept for any period of time you know the Query Builder provides a simple way to build and save queries for practically any kind of Visual Intercept data. What is sometimes overlooked is the ability to build more sophisticated queries in the Query Builder. When combined with other features such as the $PROMPT macro, the flexibility and power of the Query builder can really save you time and effort when querying for incident data.
This month's Tech Tip includes a collection of queries that are particularly useful for everyday tasks as well as for those times when you want to find incidents based on their relationship to other incidents, source files, contacts or projects.
