Visual Intercept Report Publisher
Many customers have inquired about the ability to have reports sent via e-mail according to a fixed schedule. This would allow users who don't want to receive notifications about individual incidents to receive a form of incident digest on a regular basis.
The Visual Intercept Report Publisher is the solution for scheduled reports. The Report Publisher allows you to create report jobs and send reports to a set of recipients in a number of different formats.
The report layouts are generated using the Crystal Report files used by Visual Intercept for report printing, and the report content can be based on any saved Visual Intercept query. This feature allows you to use your existing report formats and Visual Intercept queries to generate the reports.
The Visual Intercept Report Publisher is available at no charge to all customers with a current Support & Maintenance agreement.

Sign Up for the Second in the Intercept 4.0 Webinar Series
The first of the Intercept 4.0 Webinar series took an in depth look at how Intercept 4.0 will allow users to add entirely new item types and item relationships to the system using object-oriented database customization.
The next webinar in the series will demonstrate the Intercept 4.0 forms design environment to build forms for the items that were created in the first webinar. In addition to building multiple forms for a single item, the webinar will cover using form selection rules to present different forms to the user based on context.
Based on input from the first webinar the second Intercept 4.0 webinar will be scheduled for January to allow the maximum number of people to attend.

Tech Tip: Visual Intercept Report Publisher
The Visual Intercept Report Publisher uses an XML configuration file to decide which reports to run and to whom these reports are to be sent. A single XML file can be used to publish multiple reports. In addition to being able to execute and email reports on demand, report publishing can also be scheduled, using the task scheduler provided by the Windows operating system.
